Explanation for each format used

Uppercase

All characters in the text will be converted to uppercase.
Example: ALL CHARACTERS ARE UPPERCASE.

Lowercase

All characters in the text will be converted to lowercase.
Example: all characters are lowercase.

Sentence Case

Will capitalize the first letter of each sentence.
Example: This is one sentence. Another sentence is here.

Title Case

Capitalize the first letter of every word in the text file.
Example: All Words Are Capitalized.

Alternating Case

Alternates each character between uppercase and lowercase.
Example: aLtErNaTiNg cHaRaCtErS In a sEnTeNcE.

Inverse Case

Will change all uppercase characters to lowercase and lowercase characters to uppercase.
Example: ThiS texT will BECOME -> tHIs TEXt WILL become

camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, CONSTANT_CASE

Can I undo a conversion?

Yes. Press Undo to step back through your last 50 changes, including Reset.

What is the difference between title case and sentence case?

Title case capitalizes the first letter of each word, as in a book or headline. Sentence case only capitalizes the first letter of each sentence, the way normal writing is done. The word “I” is also capitalized in sentence case.

Does title case leave small words like “of” and “the” in lower case?

Only if you tick ‘Keep small words lower case’. The first word is always capitalized. With it off, every word is capitalized.

What are camelCase, snake_case and kebab-case for?

They are naming styles used in programming. They remove spaces and punctuation and join the words, for example myVariableName, my_variable_name and my-variable-name. Each line of your text is converted on its own.

Does it work with accents and other languages?

Yes. Accented letters and non-English alphabets such as Greek and Cyrillic are converted too. Characters with no upper or lower case, like numbers and most punctuation, are left as they are.

Is my text uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser and your text is never sent to our server.
