Merge PDF
Combine multiple PDF files into one.
Got a PDF that's too large to email, upload, or share easily? This tool helps reduce PDF file sizes directly in your browser, making documents easier to send, store, and share. Choose from different compression levels to find the right balance between a smaller file size and the quality of your document.
Simply load your PDF, select your preferred compression level, and compress the file. Everything is processed directly on your device, with no files uploaded to a server, keeping your documents private and under your control.

Your PDF is compressed in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
The compress pdf tool shrinks a PDF's file size, with a choice of how much to trade off against quality.
Your PDF is read and rebuilt entirely in your browser — it's never sent to a server.
These levels redraw each page as a compressed image to shrink the file, so text on those pages won't be selectable or searchable afterward. Choose 'Low' if you need to keep real, selectable text.
A PDF that's encrypted but doesn't ask for a password to open (for example, one with only an owner/edit-restriction password) can still be compressed using 'Recommended' or 'High' — 'Low' isn't available for it, since a safe structural-only re-save isn't possible on a file pdf-lib can't load. A PDF that actually needs a password to open can't be read in the browser.
'Low' only tidies up the PDF's internal structure — it doesn't touch any text, fonts, or images, so the saving is usually small. Most modern PDFs are already reasonably efficient at this level. For a real reduction in file size, use 'Recommended' or 'High'.
Possibly, especially on 'High' — both levels redraw each page at a lower resolution and compress it like a JPEG photo, which can soften fine text or detailed diagrams. If quality matters more than size, try 'Recommended' first, or stick with 'Low' if you need pages left exactly as they are.
Only if you used 'Low'. 'Recommended' and 'High' turn every page into a flattened image, so the text is still visible but no longer selectable, searchable, or copyable.
No. Everything happens in your browser using JavaScript PDF libraries — your file is never sent to a server.
